Group Therapy

Group Play Therapy is based on the same principles as individual Play Therapy but involves a group of children who need a lower-level intervention to give them a boost with self-esteem, confidence and or social / emotional development. In the group model the Play Therapist trains other professionals (teachers, learning mentors or support assistants) to use therapeutic skills to assist children in need of support. Like the Filial Therapy model, the Play Therapist supervisors the group facilitators and leads the group sessions throughout the intervention. This has proven to be a popular intervention in schools.
